question about rear main seal
well i called a transmition place and they said they would do it depending on how difficult it would be..he said the main prob would be dropping the oil pan. No other shop wants to attempt this and i dont really wanna have to take it to the dealership to get done

Make sure it's not your distributor seal that's leaking (and dripping oil down the back of the block, and around the rear of the crankshaft). Put your hand back behind the distributor and feel down towards where the distributor enters the intake manifold. If your fingers come back up with a ton of oil on them, your leak is probably coming from the distributor.
ahhh i did that and its not the distributer seal and its not the valve cover gaskets oil pressure sensor ect. well the passenger side valve cover gasket was a little wet but it wasnt leaking massivly...put it this way..im leaking half a quart of oil per day. Only other option it is..is the rear main seal due to a bad engine install on the previous owners part. He already crushed the trans pan but i got that fixed already. See i would do the freaking seal myself if i had the time and the correct tools needed. Plus its a 2 person effort. well i got a decent deal...i called a place that did the heater core on my old car and they told me they will charge me 500 for the seal repair and it will be done in 3 days.
