Formy hott
Well finally i got my 89 formula started after replacing the battery connectors. So i went and took it up to the car wash well i noticed in the car wash it was steaming. I was like oh crap. I looked at eh themro and it was maxed out. I pull it out and look under the hood the coolant in the lil white reservor is bubbling a lil and leaking out the cap somewhat. the radiator also seems hott. I really hope its just a bad hose or the termo. What u guys think it is, i had no radiator problems in octuber when I put the car away from the cold winter.
After everything cools down, remove the radiator cap and check both the level and condition of the coolant. If you haven't flushed the system in the last few years, you're overdue.
Your signature is a little confusing, but if this is the engine with the underdrive sheaves, you may have a coolant flow issue.

underdrive sheaves?, it has underdrive pully's yeah. But I dont see how it could be a problem?
Well i havent owned the car a year yet, but I will check out the coolant condition, and prolly drain it and put some fresh stuff in. But you dont think its the thermo? The car was sitting in subzero weather, couldn't that have effected the thermo, and or the coolant.

under drive pulleys do just that...they slos down all the accessories. So the pulley(s) may cause a coolant flow problem because the water pump isn't spinning fast enuf.
I just bought an '89 5.0 notchback Mustang. It HAD an under drive pulley on it which I promply stored in the trash can. Those things are ****. I'll give up the .005 hp to know that my battery is charging and my A/C works and the water pump is doing its job...
