speedo gear question

Is there a list of the part numbers for speedo gears for diffent gear sets?
I thought I rembered seeing one earlier. I checked the tech section here, but mine gears were not listed.
1987 IROC 5.7 automatic 3.27 rear end gears.
Any help would be apprciated.
The current gear is not the correct one so I can't just go by the old one.

IF,

You might want to visit the dealer's parts counter. Take all relevant information, including transmission, rear axle ratio, and tire size.

Later,

Car: 1988 Firbird
Engine: 406
Transmission: T-56
Axle/Gears: 4.10
drive gear (on transmission output shaft) = 17 tooth red 8640517

driven gear ( in VSS pickup) 45 tooth light blue 25513052

Note: These parts are for a 1987 GTA with the vechicle speed sensor not the cable driven speedometer. I am not sure if they are the same parts needed for the IROC.

Vader - that's where I went first with the hopes that they would have it listed against the rear end ratio. According to the guy behind the counter all the computer listed were the colors and part numbers. I would figure that there was a way to get the right one, but this guy didn't know much beyond what the screen showed. I had my VIN, ratio, RPO code list with me. That just confused him.

bjankuski - thanks for the info. my car has the mechanical sender, and I think it's a different setup.

I got the orginal gear back from the last owner of the car. The gear is either white or light green. He had the tranny in a car with a 2.73 rear and had put the corresponding gear in. This is why my speedo is off with the 3.27 rear. Now I have the right one so I am all set. Thanks for the help anyway.
