Help my car start back up

Ok, i went out to my car tonight and when i turned the key it just died. from that point on whenever i turn the key nothing happens. no clicks or anything. I tried jumping it, but i had to really fidget with the Red connector to get it to start jumping. When it would i would try and start it up and as soon as i tried to start it or turn on the lights, it died right away and i would have to mess with the Red connector again to get it to start charging again. Any ideas? I'm thinking maybe i have some wires loose or maybe a bad battery. Please help, this is my only driveable vehicle right now. Thanks for your time.

Take your battery out and have it inspected.
I think it's gone!
Same happened to me some time ago.
BTW have your generator inspected too!

maybe there's a bad connection at the red connection since it'll work when you mess with it? why don't you try taking it off and cleaning it?

I inspected the Red connector and it was a little loose but the bolt is stripped and is being difficult to take of or especially tighten. Is it possible to just get a new one?

Yes, any auto parts store has replacement bolts for side terminal battery cables.

Alright thank you very much. If that doesn't solve the problem, I'll be back on here.
