can't keep the voltage

i was driving around one day and i notice the voltage dropping. about 5 mins later the car died. so i figured it was the alternator, and got a new one and it still could not hold any voltage. next i replaced all of the fusable links to the starter and all of the connections were good to the alt. it still did not hold any voltage. then i bought a new battery and still nothing...... can anyone help me out and give me some ideas on how to bring my car back to life ( it is a 91 rs camaro 5speed 305)

454,

Welcome Aboard!

Grab your voltmeter and keys. You'll need to measure the alternator output voltage directly between the output stud on the alternator and the alternator case ground. I'm guessing you'll need to charge you battery to get the engine started first. Once running, you should read at least 13.0VDC at the alternator.

Let us know what reading you have, please.
