Hey,
The moment I got my car I wanted to get rid of that parasitic A/C unit. On my old '86 TA with a carb, it was easy to remove the single belt. But with the serpentine belt, I tried about a dozen different belts and none worked. I gave up for a while until I put headers on and then discovered the absolutely stupid air/smug pump. THAT thing is worse than the A/C ... and the A/C can suck up to 10%!
Anyway, I got researching this topic last night and found this wicked link on the site: https://www.thirdgen.org/serpentine
Unfortunately, it doesn't solve the A/C issue, but as long as you disconnect the power lead to the A/C, then that *should* work for your car.

if you have a serpentine setup you can get the delete pullies you will need off ebay for about $45-$55 + shipping
----------
also if you have a serpentine setup and you get those delete pullies the stock belt will work. i deleted both on my car.

The air pump is just a simple spinning air pump, it hardly sucks up any power at all. Perhaps 1-2 horsepower at the most. Its also a federal offense to remove it on any street vehicle in the United States, regardless of your state's emissions testing or not.
