Car starting issues

my car wont start the first time usually it clicks and doesnt turn over when i turn the key it does this a couple times usaually before it starts some times it starts the first time but most of the time it doesnt its a manual but i have the cluch down all the way im thinking ingnition or something but i have no idea any help would be appritated.

oh and i forgot im also experanceing long starting times (it turns over for like double what my old T/A did and i would really really like to fix this problem (and my t/a was carbed too)

You might have a starter problem. Also when was the last time you did a tuneup? Maybe it's a wire problem but check the starter first.

that would cause it not to start and make that click sound too? i could understand the longer start but would it also make it not start at all and just click? just got the car awhile ago acctually its my work in progress and im not sure when it had its last tune up but i think one might be due anywayz and this would be a good reason to do it i guess

The only other thing i can think of is that maybe the battery is low or the switch in the ignition but i asked around some mechanics and they all seem to agree that it's the starter. Hope this helps!

Replace the starter, they are cheap and relatively easy to do. Unless you have to drop the y-pipe like I had to...grrr.
