Vacuum line test
Vacuum line test
The vacuum line came off my heater control valve, so I slid it back on. But I have no heat! Is there an easy way to check if the vacuum is working without a vacuum gage?

Put your finger over the end of the hose...if you feel suction, you have vacuum.
You can also put a piece of small piece of paper over the end of the hose and see if it stays there.
As for the valve, you can take it off and try blowing through it, while applying vac. I'm not sure if it opens or closes with vac. but try one way and try the other.
You should be able to make it open/close.

LO88, did you "feel" the heater hoses before & after the valve? If they're hot before, and cold after, than replace the valve!
I had to do that to a friend's '88 f-body once.. we switched it in a parking lot. Of course, his cracked in half, but it's the same idea
