What I mean is....
A list of "what to do's" from start to finish.
I'm just looking to make the whole project easier. lol

Ive done it three times so I can give you some help. First thing I need to know is whether its cabuerated or FI. Also I am assuming you are just pulling the motor an dnot tranny at the same time.
1. Start with the tranny by removing the flywheel bolts. Line them up by cranking the motor until you can get at them.
2. Now disconnect the tranny from the motor. There are 2 bolts on either side that you will be able to get at easier with an open end or ratchet. The other ones are at the top of the block and will require a ratchet, swivel top, and tons of extensions....this is a pain. Check the tranny board for tips.
3.Disconnect all power (battery)
4. Drain all fluids (antifreeze, oil, powersteering)
5. If you plan on keeping the pulleys on, remove the radiator... this will save you some money- you will most likely bang into it if you leave them in.
6. If it is a TPI or FI going in, remove all the wiring to the motor and tape identify EVERYTHING
7. Now remove the intake system and put a towel over the motor. Get some bolts and washers and a lift and attach the chain to the bolts in the intake.
8. Remove the manifolds or headers... there may be a bolt here that you can take out to drain the fluids out of the block (or a temp sensor).
9. Remove the motor mounts (This may be made easier by lifting the motor-all depends)
10. You should be ready to pull it here. Note that more antifreeze is in the motor itself and it may leak. You can drain more from either side of the block- there is a bolt, plug or sensor(fan and temp).

1) Replace engine mounts
2) Pull as much of the wiring harness up out of the way as possible.
3) Throughly clean the engie bay and paint/protect where needed.
4) Inspect everything in there with the engine out and replace as needed.
5)Replace the convoluted wiring harness tubing.
6) Repair any frayed or worn wires.
7)Triple check the engine to make sure it is ready to go in.
8) Make sure you have all of the bolts, etc for the install and lay them out near where they are going to go.
9) Have a helper on hand.
10) Remove Radiator
11) Slowly lower the engine in, maknig sure you don't snag anyting.
12) Learn new cuss words.
13) Hook up mounts first and proceed on from there.
