Well now I'm confused if I have posi or not...
The guy originally told me I have posi so I believed him...but now I'm a little concerned.
When ever I do a burnout the passenger side has a nice mark and the driver's side is a small patch...I have gotten 2 patches once and I was kinda swerving when I was burning out so I've come to this conclusion:
Unless I'm really traction impaired only one wheel (pass. side) will spin. This can't be right? Is my posi dying? I've got 4.10 gears ready to go in and I've got the Chicagoland gathering in 2 weeks so if I have a dying posi I'd like to know as long as I have my rear end apart anyways....
I'm not a rearend man and I hear you need to have a press to get gears installed, well I don't have those, so how much does it cost to get gears installed? And if my posi's dying how much more would it be?
Thanks guys I'm trying to work out all the bugs before my first trip down the track.

Crazy,
I'd guess you have a limited slip rear end, which is a form of posi. So, try this:
Jack up the rear of the car, supporting it with jackstands naturally, and locate the fill plug in the rear end housing. Go to NAPA, spend $12 for a suction tube (this is specifically for draining rear ends) and another $10 on fresh gear oil.
Now, here's the kicker: if you have a posi, you need two small (4 oz. each?) bottles of additive to add to the rear end with the fresh oil (it's actually 85-110 weight).
The NAPA guys will know what you need.
Suction out the old rear end fluid (you probably needed to do this anyway - almost nobody but us wrench heads ever changes rear end fluid),then add the traction additive first, that way you'll know it's all in. Top up the rear with fresh gear oil, drive the car for 5 miles, and try a burnout.

Spins both wheels, huh?

not 100% method but look for g80 rpo. if you have it then it came from the factory with posi.

BOR you might be on the right track...I've only driven the car about 5k miles from when I bought it in December but I remember the whole time that it always whines a little bit when I give it gas over 40mph...probably could use some new gear oil...
