hi my brother has a 90 irocz 350TPI.and its having problems starting when its hot or cold.the engine doesnt crank doesnt even try to start what would cause this problem VATS?kind of annoying not having ur car start.my 96z28 doesnt have this problem.but i heard the Coolant temp sensor can cause it not to start is that true?i use to have a 87GTA TPI i havent had that problem so i am thinking its vats.also its not the ignition module,replaced that.but if anyone knows the problem would great thanks.also how can i bypass the VATS?

 

I would check the coolant temp sensor and the plug for it.

I had a problem recently where my car would run like crap want to stall out and not start. it would crank but was hell getting it to start, and it did come out to be the coolant temp sensor. well actually the plug for it. the wires going into the plug for the temp sensor had a short in them. my mech replaced the plug and I havent had a problem since.

this may sound stupid, but make sure the hatch it closed all the way(even if it looks closed push down on it). I had a problem recently where the car had power but the engine wouldnt crank at all, I was really worried thinking my starter may have gone bad with no warning. I turn around get some thing out of my hatch shut it, tryed starting the car one more time b4 going in and it fired right up.

last night the car wouldnt start,this morning it start right up.The light blinks a couple times when it starts then goes away.
