Engine Swap

I have what is a 350 ZZ4 short block with Vortech heads The heads I am having drilled to accept the TPI set up. The car currently has a 305 HO TPI in it. any insight into problems with this. I will also be adding a stall converter, Edelbrock TES headers, roller rockers.

I am not up to speed on the TPI systems but you MAY need a different chip and bigger injectors if you are using the ones from your 305.

You may want to post this in the TPI forum.

I'd say you'll need a different prom most definatly. Maybe bigger injectors, TBs, maybe intake and Plenum, Runners.

You're off to a bad start. The TPI manifold ports will not line up with the Vortec ports. Bolt holes are not the problem, so drilling is not the answer.

There was supposed to be a run of TPI manifolds made for Vortecs, but I haven't heard if that came through. Hadn't when last heard before the boards were down. Check the TPI board.

The 19 lb stock 305 TPI injectors will work with the pressure cranked up. Some say don't do it, but a guy out here with a ZZ3 runs better times with 19's than he does with 24's.
