ok, so me and my friend took the front accessories off of his 91 z28(305, 4 speed) to clean them up n paint them; also did the valve covers. when we put everything back on, we started the car, and it was making a weird sound, and kept cutting off...after looking, we found out a connector below the throttle body was off..hooked it back up..car idles fine now..and no weird sound...but it still has check engine light, and when the throttle is pressed it has a hessitation...what could be the problem? i know when my friend was polishing the intake, he slipped and fell and pushed the cables down pretty hard..please help!!

Scan the ECM for error codes. You'll likely get a really good idea of the problem.
