RPM's used in Valve adjustment?

What are the RPM's (preset at idle) used in a valve adjustment procedure for good results? Or no problem with this? (2.8 l V6 engine).

Thanks for the help.

In the Chiltons book it says how to adjust them when the car is not running. I have set valve lash (adjustment) about five times and I always do it like this and I get good results. I have been told multiple times you can only do it like this on a fresh set of lifters with no oil in them...they are full of s. My only warning should you decide to do it this way, is that you follow the directions very, very, very, did I mention very, closely. If you don't understand somthing repost or don't bother to try it this way. Oh yeah and if you are running roller fulcrum rockers only turn go 1/2 to 3/4 turn after the pushrod can no longer be spun.
