Quick question before I start a brand new motor.

I have everything hooked up and all I need is to fill it with coolant and oil. But after looking over my water pump I found a little hole at the top with nothing in it. I don't have the old one to look at so if someone could tell me what goes there it would be a lot of help. It is a Stewart stage 2 water pump. Here is a pic.

It is a vent. Nothing goes there.
