ESC and code 42.. hmm...
hey guys... got my '87 back on the road finally!! hopefully for good, maybe i'll be able to drive it now considering i've had it 13 months and driven it 1
I set the advance at 8 BTDC and i'm getting an ESC code... i'll step on it getting onto the freeway and it'll ping BAD then *bing* on comes the SES light and off goes my performance... i know that retarding the distrib a few degrees will help the pinging but is something else going on here? Why is Code 42 being set at the same time as 43? BTW: after setting the timing I didn't disconnect my battery... all codes stay in the ECM's memory until i do a hard reset at the battery? thanks for the help
