please help with wire
please help with wire
the other day I dropped a tool while working on the engine.. It didn't come out the bottom so I reached up behind the passanger front wheel and while looking I found a wire hanging down that i don't know what it goes to.. Here is a pic it's not very good tho..
this is behind the front passenger tire area under passenger side of the engine.. The wire goes into a cluster of other wires so I don't know where it leads to.. It's hard to see where the picture is taken at but in the very top right corner you can see part of the starter if that helps place where the picture was taken from... The wire appears to plug into something since it is a small piece of maetal at the end with a rubber boot(cushin) behind it.. any ideas??? Thanks everyone

so if the circled plug in the picture is the same as the one on my car, my fans wont work? hmm, that explains a lot-- mine looks like the wire that goes into was fried off or something(maybe when i was trying to manually wire the fans to a switch) do i need to just buy a whole new plug or what? the wire wont stay in, i tried--
hmm
Well that might be it.. I thought my fan was working I will have to check... the wire is black, that might be where it goes.. The metal tip on the end of the wire is a good inch to inch 1/2 long do you think it might go there...?

I'm fairly positive that's what it is for also.
That sensor is the coolant fan switch. I think the stock ones are set for 220º (fans comes on when coolant temp hits 220º) but you can get a cooler one. Your problem is the wiring though and I would fix that ASAP to prevent overheating. If you have dual fans then I believe the 2nd one comes on when you turn on your A/C.
