K i have a stock 305 4bbl from an 81 Berlinetta with about 195000km. I only have a Ravin mullfer and a carb from a 350(not sure if its bigger or not, mine was jsut really dirty), and an open element air cleaner. The carb is adjusted properly.

Well around 3800RPM+ the car will make a super loud tick? It more like a crack maybe, but anyway you can feel the car stop pulling when it does this. Like it will go...crack, pause.......go...crack,pause kinda thing.

Is this a timing issue? Do I have bad plugs, would that do it? Feul delivery problem?

I'd check the plug wires, at higher rpms the resistance in the plug wire actually goes up. so if the wire is slightly cracked or such it may work fine at low rpms but give you problems at high rpms. it's not too common but i see it every now and again.

The cracking noise could be the the voltage arcing from the plug wire to whatever it's near.

 

Well it jsut stops pulling then goes again. It is as instantaneous as the crack it self. Im not sure, it that would be a miss.

I will get new plug wires and plugs soon and see if that helps.
