Problems

I understand this isn't the cooling board, but I want to try to keep this here so I can get a quick response. The other day, my radiator sprung a big leak. I got a new 2 row radiator from Radiator Barn. It went in with no problem and took me 30 minutes tops. Now I have a problem...either the temperature gauge is malfunctioning, or my temperature gauge not malfunctioning and is pegging out to the right over 260* after a drive around the block. Has anyone else had this problem? Do I need to reset or adjust something?

You shouldn't have to reset or adjust anything. Is your T-stat working properly? Kinked hose?

Thanks for the prompt reply. I solved the problem. I didn't have enough water/coolant in there. I started it up, added another GALLON of distilled water, drove it, and voila...no over heating. :lala: Funny how that works, huh?

Check it again in a couple of days or so. All water contains entrapped air. As the water heats, the air is driven off, creating a bubble in the system. If you're really ****, you can pre-boil the water to deaerate it as much as possible and minimize this phenomenon, but it's a good idea to check it periodically anyway (as in at least monthly), with all the rest of the fluids, belts, tires, lights, etc.
