OK The night i get back from vacation,after unpacking i immediatly go get my car out of the garage(86z28 t-tops black clean) well im pulling out of the drive way and i hear this loud noise so i look behind me and theres this red 90lx 5.0 with super tinted windows and cobra r's well the dude rolls down the window and its my friend andrew(i guess he got a stang while i was on vacation)well my girlfriend is sitty shotty.Well throught the night they are both giving me sh*t about whos car is louder(he cut his exaust off) whos is faster (i have stock lg4) whos looks nicer(i have a nice looking clean car black w/gold ground effects and iroc rims) but other then that stock now im pissed hes riding around with my girlfriend and talkin lots of Sh*t.could you guys help me out this is what i have to work with my mods so far bm megashifter kn airfilter-i have a edelbrock 600cfm manual choke carb in the garage i also have rpm air gap polishedand performer rpm heads 70cc polished in the garage and the cam that matches that i aslo have 2500 in the bank.HELP PLEASE. I want to beat this guy!....please help

i was in the same situation when i had my 91 rs... but then again i realized it early and sold the car and cut my losses. then i bought my 92z and it's the other way around...

 

I dont think it should get locked im asking for opions for apperance and engine mods an i dont now but i see them riding around all the time i also used to have a 91rs piece so i sold it got a nice clean 86z and will begin modding the crap out of it

TPI is the way to go (unless you got money to build a nice carb set-up...)...

when i bought my 91 RS i didn't even know there was such a thing as TPI.... then my neighbour pulls in in his camaro one day and pops his hood... i sold my car 3 days later...

lg4 is like.... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the crappiest camaro engine (no offense to the owners)

 

i agree it's probably gonna get locked. easyspeed has the same idea i was gonna suggest. if your z is nice and clean, you should be able to sell if for some decent cash. then find an iroc with a tpi (preferably the 350). with the money from your z and the 2500 in the bank, you should be able to find a pretty sweet iroc. then if you have any money left over, buy a good set of headers and exhaust. that should put you back on top. when your gf gets back in your car, pimp slap her in the eye for riding in his car ok i was j/k about the last part

*edit* didn't know you had a 350. you going with a carb setup? if you have a 350 ready to build, you're well on your way to leaving him in the dust. for $2500 you should be able to build that thing pretty nicely, especially if you know how to build a motor.

 

my name is 5.7 boy because check the post above also appearence wise so i dont get locked i have the iroc grille ready to put in and a 2 1/2 in cowl hood from goodmark that needs painted.

 

well i was thinking crane cams roller rockers 1.6 3/8 stud some kieth black pistons 9.7 compression msd ingntition some heddman elite hedders holey red fuel pump some chromemoly pushrods and suspension mods 3.73 etc
plus my parts i listed in the first post.

 

Just keep it appearence/detailing related of thirdgens and it won't get locked. If you want opinions as far as engine parts, post in Tech/General Engine. So far so good...

 

yes im going with the carb setup oh and if anyone sees any problems with my setup let me know because i dont want to screw anything up,get wrong parts,etc and if your a moderater pleaase dont lock it atleast move it thanks

This list is pretty good and on your way to a good stout 350, should be over 300hp and 340trq

What is the catback and cat(if you have one) should be all 3"

Also get POSI if you don't already and a panhard and LCA's

The carb might be on the small side you might want a 750 or so.

What is your tranny an AUTO or MANUAL if manual you should be fine with it, just be gentle, if it is an auto, definately get a bigger stall.

Also do you have stock Z28 rims? you might want to go with IROC rims 16x8 and some good rubber.
