V.a.t.s Help!!

I can not find a resistor to by pass my passkey vats anywhere!! I tried all the local electronic stores. I have a code pellet 6 or 1.47 value ( 1470 ohms ) key. I know how to bypass but I cant get this resistor. The guy at radio shack said a 1.5 resistor will do fine, but what does he know about the GM VATS system. Help

Where can I get one???
Will 1.5 do?
Should I just get a new ignition switch???

92rsv8 I tried to email you but your box is full. Thanks for your help.

Delete VATS in the ECM/PROM. Then it wont matter what resistor you have or dont have in your key.

Get a 1Kohm resistor and a 470ohm resistor.

Wire in series, (end to end) not parallel (on top of each other).

You now have a 1470ohm resistor
