NON-THIRDGEN Tech. Please help with a Jeep Wrangler.

OK guys.
This is my sisters Jeep and I was just wondering if someone might be able to diagnose this problem

Its a '90 Jeep Wranger with a carbed 4 cylinder.

Anyhow. The thing always ran fine until a little while ago (last year actually). She moved away to go to scool, and one time after she just drove 2 hours on the freeway to get home, she noticed oil spewing out all over under the hood.
Basically now, if she is driving around town it is fine, but is she takes it up to speed for awhile (freeway) then this happens again.
The first time I took a look at it, it seemed the oil had come out of the pcv valve, no problem, hook it back up (it had came off apparently) and clean off the engine. Well I guess i still happens everytime she trys to take the thing on the freeway/highway but is still ok driving around town.

What do you guys think this might be?

Thanks, Tim

Possibly some reeeealy bad blow-by? Thats all i can think of to blow the PCV valve outa its hole.

Not too many Jeep owners huh? Well, I'm familiar with the two I had, an '88 and an '89. Both had sixes, but i did find some really good info while I played. It seems that the Jeeps have POS plastic valve covers that are really prone to internal cracking and leaking, esp. at the PCV valve area. It was my understanding that it was a bad problem on the big sixes, but the fours did not have a big prob with them. I only had to replace the one on my '88. Hope that gives you a place to start.

Well does anyone have any other ideas why ANY engine would do this? Spew oil everywhere after driving on the freeway but fine around town?

Thanks all.

Piston/ring blowby, as the guy said, is your probably cause. Gotta do leakdown test and compression tests ASAP!!!

Jester, I have a Wrangler w/chevy 350, myself. Fun stuff...
