I took my '90 Formula with an '89 LB9 to the dyno today. It's a dual-cat car that is fairly stock -- SLP cat-back exhaust, K&N filter and a crank pulley (I don't think it has a full set of aftermarket pullies). I wanted to get a baseline before installing headers this weekend.
Anyway, it put out 209 hp @ about 3400 rpm and 275 ft-lbs of torque @ 4400 rpm to the wheels. With about 80K on the engine, I would have been happy with anything over 200 for the HP.
We did three pulls, and everything was within 1 hp/tq.
Edit: 209 hp at 4400 and 275 tq at 3400.

Let us know what kind of difference the headers make. It isn't often people will take the time to dyno the chassis before and after a single mod, so this would be really good data to have.

You sure you didn't mean 209 hp at 4400 rpm and 275 tq at 3400?Originally posted by slow305

good point, otherwise he would have 230hp at 4400rpm and 322lbs of torque at 3400. also why is this two threads? You sure you didn't mean 209 hp at 4400 rpm and 275 tq at 3400?

Edit: Yup, I'm just plain retarded. The big curve is torque and the little curve is horsepower, right?
I guess the confusion is a result of my background in 4-banger imports.
Should be 275 ft-lbs of torque at 3400 and 209 hp around 4400.Supreme Member
That was with headers and ext. It went up to 230something after intake runners and pullies.
