Ram Air?
I just want to know what the function of ram air is? What exactly doed it do? How come it wont work on a carb car? Is it possible because my car is carbuerated. Thanks.
In a nutshell, Ram air gets more air into your engine. Instead of the motor having to "inhale" the air, it is forced in by the ram air, ie the velocity of the car. This is the same principal (although they're apples and oranges) that turbos and superchargers use. The other advantage of Ram air is that the air is taken from the outside, not from under the hood. This means that the intake charge is cooler and therefore more dense. More air = more power.
Edit: you can use the ram air concept on a carbed car, just need a scoop.
