ported base or edelbrock base?

ported base or edelbrock base?

How much is there to gain with an edelbrock base over a realy hogged out stock one?

Definately get the Edelbrock, it is very hard to make a stock intake flow really well. The Edelbrock is probably worth 15 hp or even 20 over a ported stock intake.
