Car wont start!!! fuel problem???

91 RS Camaro L03

Car has been, for the past couple months burping....usually under hard acceleration. It would be completely lacking in power then catch up and chirp the tires.

I checked all the spark, and that seems fine.

Yesterday, while stopped at a gas station, I tried to accelerate and the car burped several times, and i had to pump the gas to get it to go. It worked for about 20 yrds, then i pulled into the station across the street and checked oil, water and all that good stuff.

This morning, hard to start my car....it was turning..but a never-ended attempt to start so it would idle. Finally it turns over, im rolling now..every time I was in first or 2nd i had real problems accelerating. I got 1 mile and the car dies again, never to be started again...I have recently changed the fuel filter since someone before said that could be my problem....could it be the fuel pump? Ill answer any Q's i can to help identify the problem....anything else to look for?

Check your fuel pressure and pull the distibuter cap and have a look at the module. I wouldn;t bet on the module, but it won't cost you anything to have a look.

turn your key to "on", not to "start" and listen for the fuel pump. It should prime for a couple seconds when you first turn the key. If you can't hear it, then it has probably died. Check your fuel pump relay, make sure it's not gone out on you, that's an easy fix. Also check to see if you have pressure at the fuel rail when the key is "on". You can jump the "G" terminal on the ALDL which will bypass the relay and cause the pump to fire up. If the pump comes on when you jump the terminal, then you have a bad relay. If not, then I'd say it's time for a new pump.
