Valve Seals...Need for TDC w/ Air Compressor??

Changing out the valve seals on the 'bird today and I just want to make sure before I go and drop my valves down in the heads....

I'll be using an air compressor to get the job done (well on the plus holes I can actually get to), and am just clarifying whether or not I need to move it to TDC for the cylinder im working on, or will the valves be held in place regardless????

Main reason I am asking is because when I hook up the airhose I can hear air moving (hissing), and am thinking its because the valves are open (or is the hissing normal?)...?

on the cylinder your working on, just turn the engine over until u notice that the valves are closed. (not moving) that's it. good luck

really doesn't matter, lot of times the air will push the piston down

If the valves are leaking.... See if you can tell where the hissing is coming from. Can you hear it through the intake?

yeah, when it does leak, its through the intake.... on some cylinders however, the crank/pistons move properly and the valves close... others they don't move at all, so I'm assuming I have to rotate the crank to close the valves
