Engine ping/tick/somthing at idle on TPI
last week my supercharger died. (I dont know if thats related i just wanted you guys to feel my pain) After taking it out i noticed a ticking sound that goes with rpm. Engines clean of carbon, and if it wasnt detonating under boost i wouldnt imagine it would NA. The wierd thing is, it only seems to be happening at idle, and it tends to go away after the car has been running for abour 15mins. Any ideas? could this be an injector problem?
What kinda of injectors for you have ? Some injectors (like the SVOs) make a loud ticking sounds that of course varies with RPM. I'd get a piece of hose, put it to your ear and snoop around the engine to pinpoint the location the noise is coming from. It might even be an exhaust leak.. u never know. Heh
