fuel line question

i have a 88 firebird that had a 2.8 in it, now have a carburated 355 in it. what do i do with the return line, it was leaking on me and i plugged it off, is that the right thing to do or, does the tank need to be vented somehow, because sometimes when i pull out the gas cap there is pressure being let out?

Thanks in advance,

Joel

Are you using a mechanical or electric pump, because if its an electric the one leaking is the return line, you need a 3 port regulator, it will eventually burn the pump up. If your using a mechanical fuel pump, i would say plug it off.

im running a mechanical pump, i removed the relay for the electronic fuel pump so that shouldnt be working, i cant hear it and theres not alot of pressure
