If you think you are good, check this problem out

ok so...when i run the a/c, in stop and go traffic in the city for lets say 2 hours, the car will bog down, cut off, start back up and slow rev, VERY slow rev, bog down, and die.

yes, injectors are brand new, fuel pump is new, this seems to be a fuel delivery issue, fuel pump possibly?

i can dog the bejesus outta thee car all day long but if i run the a/c i stop and go traffic, this happens.

IAC is new, whole ignition is new, set correctly. fuel filter is new.

air filter isnt clogged. ECM is new as well.
PROM is good. map is new. TPS is the ony sensor that i can see that isnt new.

before i haul off and but a tps and a fuel pump, ANY suggestions?

dont tell me to check the fuel pressure either because this is seriously a random occurance thing, and the fuel pressure guage costs twic as much than the fuel pump lol.

PLEASE help, this is killin me and my brain, i cant think any more, and have no idea wtf this could be

Sounds like vapor lock to me, are your headers running close to the fuel iines anywhere? What is your engine temp when this happens?

get a 180° thermostat.

i've had this same problem before, and i think that's the fix. (in fact, that's what i did this weekend). i hadn't had it happen in months, then for emissions we tried a 195° stat, (which i wouldn't have done had i known the previous idiot owner had removed the cat... since the cat fixed everything, i put a 180° back in today). i think the problem is a combination of heat and electrical drain. both fans plus AC is a lot of power to suck down, and i bet it happens more when stopping (tail lights eat a lot too) and turning (ps pump adds some mechanical drain).

i've recently fixed the IAC, so that's ruled out. minimum idle air is set correctly. the only other thing i can think of is that the switch in the AC that invokes a higher idle RPM is malfunctioning. though on the 92, i'm not sure where that is.

anyway, we're having a 90°+ heat wave this week, so i'll let you know how my experiment goes. had no problems on the test run today, but i didn't sit in traffic all that long.

also, when doing the stat on a TPI car, make sure you have hex bolts in it, not torx. getting to them with a socket and a wrench is much better than taking off the TB to get to them....

well, ive cheaked all the lines, nothing is ran near a high heat source, usually happens around 220 degrees, i have a 180 thermostat.

could it be a dying clutch on the a/c and it locking the a/c compressor causeing a hellafied strain on the engine thus making it bog and die?

Sounds like the lines could be freezing making thier way back to the pump causing it to slow bogging the engine. Check the refridgerant pressure. Low levels can cause this.

could be, alho this usually happens under a 220+ degree hood.

it acts like its either getting too much or too little fuel.

does this sound like a fuel pump issue?
