Ha! Last week I tried installing my intake and after I torqued it down the damn two end pieces squeezed out like a sloppy joe sandwich. So of course when I tried to pull the intake back up, it ripped my intake gaskets to hell. On next attempt, I will use black permatex silicone and throw those pieces away.

I dimple the block surface at the ends and use silicone :-)
Best stuff i have found for that, all too common for the rubber seals to squeeze there way out while torqueing down or just start seeping oil
use silicone around the wate rports on the intake gasket and use gask-a-sinch on the rest ...messy nasty junk but man will it ever seal for good , u dont want to take one off after sealing it as above :-) lol

Agreed just lay a nice thick bead of RTV across the block. Dont be afraid to lay it down thick either, just give it pleanty of time setup after you torque down the intake. Wipe off the extra around the outside of the intake and just give the stuff inside the intake pleanty of time to cure before you go splashing hot oil all over it. I play by the 24 hour rule when installing an intake with an RTV bead.
