What has she got?

I'm getting a 385 built and it will be ready soon, just wondering what kind of numbers it's going to make at what RPM. Just guesses if anyone got some or if some one could throw it through DD2K er somethin that be cool too. Specs are below...

Eagle Cast Steel Crank
Eagle Forged H beam Rods
Eagle Forged Pistons, 10:1 compression

AFR 195 Standard heads
2.02/1.60 Valves; 1.530 O.D. Springs; 7/16 rocker studs

Holley MPFI Intake (Not Stealth Ram)
36lb/hr injectors, 1000 cfm TB, KN Extreme Filter

LT4 Hot Cam
Duration: 218/228 @ 0.050, Lift: 0.525/0.525

SLP 1 3/4" Headers
High Flow CAT
Single 3" Exhaust
Edelbrock Aluminum Water Pump
D.U.I. Distributor w/ Dyna Mod

Thanks for the guesses...

The black dot means your subscribed to the post.

I'm gonna say your estimated specs are about right. Maybe a little more torque. Good luck with the t-5.

Cool thanks.
Yea, the T-5 is gonna love my torque curve, -I'm sure. The stock RS front brakes like it too (too bad I spent all my money on the motor)

Any other guesses, anyone with DD2K. Thx.

DD2K sux. Use Engine Analyzer. It is more accurate. Go to http://www.themustangshop.com/downloads.cfm.

I got two questions...

If I go with a bigger cam will I loose any torque or could I gain both HP and torque.

What other things would you suggest to add power to this motor.
Suggestions I've already gotten...
Electric Water Pump (Expensive, but possible)
Dry Sump Oiling (Not likely)
Windage Tray/Crank Scraper (Not sure how much this would help)
Anyone know? Thx

Jfreeman,
Thanks for the Engine Analyzer link. It's a bitchen program, just unzipped it, defintely more detailed than DD2K. Don't suppose anyone knows where to get specs on some of the more popular performnce parts. Holley, Edelbrock, SLP, AFR, etc. Thx.

Ben

Assuming you do have too little cam, then no, you won't lose any torque. You will, however, lose a little more of the bottom end torque.

Basically, the peak will get kicked up higher in the rpm band a little more. (probably)

yea for a roller cam that LT4 cam is a nothing cam. With those heads you should consider something around 235 duration at .050 and around 525 to 550 lift.

I have played with both DeskTop Dyno and Engine Analyzer and I have to say that I like DD2k better. There are more avialable "custom" inputs I can enter than in Engine Analyzer. As an example, for heads DD2K will allow (and use) up to 14 flow entries, Engine Analyzer only asks for 1 (in expert mode). In cam selection Engine Analyzer has most common grinds in it already where as DD2K you have to buy the disk for that but you can enter and change every aspect of your cam spec to match what you have.
Engine Analyzer has a nice little reporting feature, but it assumes too much, such as fuel delivery warnings, piston speed warnings, even though you tell it you are running a max of 5 grand it still assumes you want 6 grand.
Too much in areas I don't want and too little in the areas I do.
Plus, I do believe DD2K is a bit more accurate, though it "over estimates" a bit, I find that Engine Analyzer grossly underestimates.

Get Optimun Power's Virtual 4-Stroke or GT Power simulation software and you'll curse the day you bought DD. I looked at the new DD2 and still wasn't very impressed. It will show you ruf estimates but it does help match up parts. Where can I tell it my runner length, my exhaust setup.
Only other problem with the software I mentioned is the cost. $18,000 for Virtual 4-stroke or $1000 for FSAE teams.
