What Should I do when storing my IROC?

I am going to have to store my IROC for three months and was looking for suggestions as to how I should prepare it. Particularly I was wondering about fuel so that it won't go bad. Thanks for any responses.

Store it with a full tank of gas, and add some fuel stabilizer. You won't have any problems with condensation in the tank if you fill it up.

Never cover with plastic - especially on a non paved surface.

Never start car during winter unless you let it get up to normal running temperature - it promotes condensation.

Crack the windows about 1/2".

Cover your tail pipes or stuff something in them - you might save a mouse.

Change your oil and run it though the motor - new oil offers more protection.

Interior - charcoal brickettes or kitty litter in a large bowl will prevent mildew.

Test your antifreeze! I bought my car in FL and it showed up with 90% water in the radiator.

I'm sure you knew most of this, but I read it in a recent post. I looked for it but couldn't find it.

Anything to help "make 'em last!"

Thanks for the advice. I just changed the oil and I bought some fuel stabilizer. I hadn't thought of mildew though. I always run 50/50 water and antifreeze and I live in southern Oregon so it doesn't get that cold. I just don't want any surprises when I get back. I miss my baby already! Thanks for the help though.

I store mine for about 6 months a year, with fuel stabilizer and a full tank. It always starts right up in the spring. I take the battery out, too, and keep it charged up through the winter. And yes, the mice:found a dead mouse next to the firewall this spring. They can be destructive, so best get some D-Con and traps.

I just remembered something... DO NOT use Armour All or anything like it on your interior before you put it away either. They are all water based and seriously promote mildew.

I store mine from Nov. 1 to Apr. 1 in New England winters - haven't had a problem yet. I forgot about the battery - 90 Formula is right, definately take it out and keep charged.
