Need help with locations

Can you guys help me out with some locations on my '87 305TPI Trans Am?

Where is the egr valve? Is it really sitting under the plenum?

And where is the O2 sensor? I could not see it from the top. Will I have to access that from under the car?

May need to replace both of those.

Thanks for the help.

Bill

egr valve IS under the plenum. o2 sensor should be on the exhaust manifold (drivers side). down low.

How much of a pain is it to take off the plenum?

Not bad as long as you have the right torx bit and some good extensions. You don't need to take off the throttle body. Just undo the bolts holding the runners onto the plenum on each side, and then just loosen the bottom bolts on one side of the runners, to get that side loose. Then you can pull the plenum up and turn it over to the side out of the way with the throttle cables still connected. Don't forget to undo the wire underneath (MAT sensor), the power brake hose, and the fuel pressure regulator tube. You can get to the 02 sensor much easier from underneath.

Thanks Vader. But I hope these were file photos you had stored and you didn't run out into the garage and take things apart to snap a picture.
