GNX a Muscle Car???
GNX a Muscle Car???
In my opinion there is 2 definitions of "Muscle Car".
The first is well defined from previous posts about "old school" Muscle cars.
The 2nd definition is one in which takes into account the "intention" of the manufacturer and the impression it creates on the streets. Let's use the GNX example to make this point...one look at this car and you know from the "VADER" appeal that it's Muscle and the evil "hiss/whine" under the hood is very unique and has intemidated many an old schooler on the road. The Buick Turbo V-6 has gained it's reputation all across the streets/racetracks of america. Where not talking slolum here
COmmon people...does the GNX more resemble a A: Grocery getter? B: Muscle Car? C: Sports Car?
I consider the ZR-1 to be an answer by Chevy to "deal" with the Buick Turbo cars. The "intention" of the manufacturer to raise the stakes against the Grand National "bad a**" is "Muscle" in my book.
I consider "sports cars" like the 1967 Stingray with dual quad 427 more Muscle Car than sports car. Obviously raw straight line performance was what the engineers were after. L88

Well the "Muscle car era" was from the early 60's to early 70's, but....The GNX is definately a 80's Muscle car, as there is really nothing domestic/import out there that can touch it for the most part.
Just in case you didn't read it or don't remember, this is supposed to be a Technical bulletin board. This thread really lacks any technical content, and isn't even ThirdGen related...
