Engine Compartment Noise
I've had this noise coming out of the engine bay for a while and I can't seem to pinpoint it. The best I can describe is a pitter patter type sound kind of like an air cooled VW engine. Its pretty annyoing. Any ideas of what it can be?

Thats not enough to think of anything. Is it like a tapping sound??

No not really a tapping...and it doesn't do it at idle, only if I either rev the engine or start going. But you know that sound old VWs make?....it sounds like that. I don't think I can describe it any better, but definitely not like a tap.

possibly a vaccum leak? does it sound sort of like a whistling? does your tach bounce a little at idle?

No not a whistle and I don't think my needle bounces...someone suggested it may be a leak from my exhaust manifold. Does that make sense to anyone else?
