Clearancing Rod Bolts

How do I go about clearancing the rod bolts to prevent them from hitting the cam? What part of the bolt actually can hit the cam? I would think only the head, but it's such a low profile I don't see why it would even be a problem. This is for a stroker motor and I have hit every other clearance problem, so I want to prepare myself for this one now.

It will be the outer edge of the bolt head on the side of the rod opposite the bearing tangs. Occasionally the rod itself will have the same problem, if it's real wide there; most won't. Usually it's only a very small amount of interference if any, and a small notch off that corner of the bolt will cure it.

I would avoid that if possible. Try sticking the cam in, and trial-fitting the rods & pistons one at a time without rings, and checking them. In my opinion .030" of clearance is adequate, some feel there should be at least .050". Personally I hate grinding on bolts any more than absolutely necessary.
