New Intake

Well i got my intake gasket sealer but i am new and not sure how to go about putting this all on. Am i supposed to put sealer on both sides of the gasket, lay it on the block and then put on my intake manifold? Im just guessing on that one. Its really hot out and i dont feel like being out for too long, lol. So i just need to know the right way to do this so i can get out and do it and then get back in the nice air conditioning

Use gasket sealer on all surfaces around the water ports only (the one on each end of each gasket).

Many people use silicone sealant instead of the rubber gaskets on the "China wall" ends, but the rubber ones will work, too.

on the heads:

put some sealent on the gasket surface around the ports... some people do just the water ports, i do all the ports...

i usually use permatex blue on mine... it has a diffrent texture then regular silicone... i like it better.

once the silicone is on the head, carefully lay the gasket on it. the silicone will let it tack on there...

on the end walls of the block, there are 3 ways people seal them

1. cork gaskets.. - trash. throw them away!
2 the rubber slip over kind - never used them, heard both good and bad.
3 run a THICK bead of silicone on top.. works great every time... noone i know of that did that ever had a prob with it.
