Changing Camshafts
I have a 1992 Camaro RS 5.0 TBI and I was wondering if I could change camshafts while the motor is in the car I have air. I think someone had posted something about this on here but I cant find it. Thanks for the help

yes you can change it while it is in the car. You will have to take your radiator and AC condensor out to do it though.
Also, you would have to remove the intake manifold to do it.
Im going to move this to general engine.

Its fairly easy to do. Like Guido said you have to remove the radiator and a/c condensor. If you have any questions about it send me an email and ill be happy to answer them. I just did this with my IROC last winter so its still fresh in my mind.
I have a 1989 IROC-Z 305 TPI. Someone on this board told me that I have the peanut cam.
What kind of cam should I get to improve it? How much power gains are we looking at with a cam swap? Do you have to get a custom prom if you swap the cam? I have always thought you had to remove the engine to get to the cam But ever since this thread has started, the cam swap has been nagging me!
