Huston, We have a problem.
Huston, We have a problem.
ok so....this is a funny story, and i have to vent , so maybe some of you can get a few chuckles on my misfortune.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THE 2 HOUR OIL CHANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, Correct, today it took 2 hours to change a friends oil on his 92 rs . everything was going smoothly --as if i thought it could ever be a problem--.. Until, we try to get the filter off. this sucker is on there so tight, its not even funny, secondly, the bottom of the filter is bent to hell.
so this present a few problems.
1.) no filter wrench cup thats driven by a socket wrench will grasp the edges.
2.) the type with the metal band wont grab low enough for it to enguage the lock mechanism. same with a strap wrench.
so what to do?? drive a screwdriver through it and use it as a handle and turn it?! great idea? wrong...that aluminum stands NO kinds of tolerance to torque....rips very easily.
so now what?? i beat the crap out of it with a hammer in a furious rage all the while slinging oil everywhere.
ok now that the anger is gone, back to the project. looking around for the most off tool to do the job i grab some large vise grips, ..well well kids. OIL is everywhere, ..no matter how hard ya try to get the sucker on right...it slips off, or rips the metal.. i even went so far as to driving a crowbar into it and tried to turn it.
so ..still screwed. im about to give up, when i realize, HEY ...these huge wood working clamps might come in handy, ...so i hammer 2 sides of the filter flat, ...stick the clamp on, ....it slips....wipe oil off, slips....so i finally tried a third time....and....it MOVES..yes, finally cracked the seal of the filter, and was able to get it off by hand.
so after all this is done and over with, i thought abou tit, and prolly coulda used a large radiator clamp, and grabbed the nut with some vise grops and done it that way.
The End. .....or is it?
lemme hear some of yalls mishaps on a alleged 15 min job. i have many many more i could post but my food is getting cold. so let me hear them fellas.

one time I had to use a porta-potty to take a leak and the a oversized american white man was in there for like 25 mins. I thought he died and all I wanted to do was take a ****.
Conclusion - I went behind the potty and started to **** on it while he was in it. He came out and saw me and of course you can't stop once you started and my luck, it was one of those I drank a case of pepsi and have alot of evils to unload.
Yeah, rock on!
