My Car Or My Buddies Car, Please Help Me Out!!!
Please help me out on this situation. My buddy has offered me a deal on his 1988 L98 GTA because he doesn't like the gas mileage. I found the car for him a few months ago and it is in MINT shape. He bought the car for $5000 (U.S.) and I thought that was a great deal, but now since I'm his buddy and have done all the mechanic work on the car since he's owned it, he's offering it to me for $3700 (mainly because the car won't start because of a stupid alarm problem...but I'd rip the alarm right out). Here is the comparison between our two cars:
Mine: 1988 L98 GTA, 104 000 miles, Black (great paint), Stock, new front brake job, new BFG VR4 tires, leaking rad, needs new exhaust, broken tranny mount, starting to bubble around windshield frame, other wise mechanically sound, motor runs almost like new, driven one winter, Spoiler is rotting from inside out, underbody is in almost mint shape, Interior like new other than a small corner of the dash, lots and LOTS of great memories, bought it one year ago for $5500.
His: 1988 L98 GTA, 103 000 miles, Dark Red (mint paint), Lowered, SLP 3/4" Headers, Flowmaster Exhaust, 3:73 gears, Crane ignition, Sub-frame connectors, Frontend brace, Goodyear GSC tires, Stored every winter (and it shows!), underbody looks like it just rolled off the line, Interior needs some work, Spoiler is perfect, he needs to add a little oil from time to time, absolutely no trace of any rust or decay anywhere, bought it three months ago for $5000.
Well there's the comparison. The plan I am thinking about is buying his and swapping in from my car my seats, carpet, hatch motor, tires, possibly my motor, etc. to make one perfect GTA. After all the swapping, I'd sell my car for around $2000 - $3000.
Or should I just keep my car since I'm so attached to it and fix everything myself and have fun doing it in the process?
I'd greatly value your opinions!

If you can afford it, I would keep both of them and make a super GTA!
