no i dont believe the flowtechs will bolt to the factory y-pipe, you have to modify the y-pipe to work

i doubt very much the flow techs would bolt to your y pipe... you would either have to purchase one from them or get a custom one made

well the main reason that slp headers is so high is that they are 50 state legal. they have all the air tubes and stuff like that on them...performance wise they are not very many exhaust systems that will deliver what they say they will...

Slps are also stainless steel

In addition to the SLP's being stainless, it could be the gauge (thickness) of the steel used. I don't know how thick the Flowtechs are, but the thicker the steel , the longer they'll last. A cheap set with thin steel will burn through pretty quick.

SLP's have a lifetime gaurantee. Performance wise, I am very happy. I did lose some bottom end. Get it to about 2000-2500 and it takes off! These are 1 and 3/4 headers, on a 350, jet hot coated, and SLP cat back (still stock cat). No other major mods except for the MSD ignition, and the MSD Blaster SS coil. My exhaust got taken out by PA RT 202 so I replaced it w/ the best

Oh yeah, sounds great too. Very low rumble, loud behind the car, not in it. Overall a very good system

Flowtechs also have TINY primaries...1.5" if I'm not mistaken. That's way too small for a 350. BTW, last time I checked SLP had their 3rd gen hearder on sale for $350.

1. It's not that Flowtechs are so cheap..it's that SLP's are so overpriced. There are several very good brands of header available for under $100.

2. NO headers can use the factory Y pipe. All require the use of an aftermarket pip or a custom made one.

3. Flowtechs have 1.5" primaries, which depending on your engine combo, may or may not be what you want. For pretty much any 305 you want 1.5". As my own rule of thumb I say a 350 under 300hp or so(in other words, most of TPI 350's) should have 1.5" too, under 400 should be 1 5/8, and 1 3/4 for over that. Bigger is NOT always better.

4. I have Flowtechs on my 305, and am extreamly happy with them.
