Fedup and Need Help

Ok well now i am almost thinking of saying to hell with cars for the rest of my life. I am in such a horrible mood i cant even believe it. Heres the story so you can understand where im coming from. For the past 5 months i havent been able to enjoy my drivers license at all. Ive driven my car maybe 8 or 9 times in the 5 months i have had it. I got my license in late Feb. and got the car in late March. So i buy this car from a guy who beat the car to hell and back and i was so desperate to actually DRIVE i bought the damn thing for 1700 bucks. I used my whole life savings on this damn car and im fed up and tired of it. After about 3 or 4 drives, the car got a knock, it was bad bearings. So i had to get a new engine. It took me another month and a half to find one and get it installed. That cost me another 600 bucks. All this while im paying car insurance. So i get the 350 put in by some guy i know. Its slow as hell, not timed, wrong carb/distributor combo so i cant get the advance i need. a few more drives and the car has had it again. This time its leaking both oil and gas. Turns out to be a stupid harmonic seal. So my car has not run since around late April early May. Ive wasted my WHOLE summer waiting for one of my friends to help me with this damn thing. He says hes gonna come but never does. So i decided to do the rest myself with the best knowledge i had. So i spent the last month doing the rest of the work myself. So i get to the end of the work... almost done!! but then i need a new battery. So i just got home from Autozone to get one... pop it in... and it tries to start... but then stops. I probably hooked something up wrong. it almost started ONCE... the rest of the time the starter just clicks, and keep in mind i had to WALK to autozone and this is a FRESH battery so theres nothing wrong with it. Besides that, my turn signals dont work, and my guages wont light up. Ive had it with cars and im about ready to sell this POS. So in conclusion.... what could be wrong with the damn thing from what ive said?

Sounds like you have a bad starter not battery...
If you want to be cheap about it get a rebuild kit for the starter... but a few dollars more and you can have a complete fresh starter...
ps... sounds like you should invest in some rollerblades.

That problem is usually caused by dead battery, or a bad connection or groud. Check and clean/tighten your battery cable ends to see if that helps.

does it make a rapid clickin noise or what? if it's a rapid clickin noise then you'll need a new starter.
