i have an oil leak on my intake on the passenger side right were the injectors are. i changed the valve cover gaskets and it did not solve the problem. i think it may b coming from the bottom gasket on the runner tube is there any oil present near that lower gasket? is it possible that oil can leak from there? i thought that only air passed through there. the car runs and idles great. but i just get oil puddling near my injectors.right under the tube. what do u think? thanks later ed

 

Yeah, common problem...........

What is happening is this: the bolts at the base of the runners, that hold the intake manifold down, go into oil passages. If the bolts have not been coated with a sealant, or the engine has a lot os miles on it, the sealant has broken down, and oil is travelling up the threads of the intake bolt, and puddling on the low spots on top of the intake manifold.

The fix is to remove the bolts and apply new thread sealant. That means removing a lot of stuff. Unless you really need to, I recommend you just wash down the engine periodically with Simple Green and a hose.
