I have been spending all of my time on other camaros and firebirds and neglecting my own. check this out. I have a check engine ligh popping on, only once in a while. I do have this problems with taking off though. If i floor it, my car does not seem like it has no guts at all. if i don't floor it, it is usually just fine. runs best when it is cold, but reaches running tempurature and runs like a concrete turtle.

I am also beginning to feel something ugly with my transmission and i am not sure if it is engine related or not. I have adjusted the t.v cable and it is shifting good in 1-2, but 2-3 might as well be 23-overdrive. it will not do this if i am accelerating fairly quickly, normal driving however sucks.


any ideas on these problems???????

What is the car?? Have u checked the codes from the SES light, if u don't know how, Take This Link: https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/tech/index.shtml and go to Miscellaneous Info.

ooooooooppppsss. It is a 91 firebird. 305 TBI automatic, fully loaded. I should have already stated these facts. sorry for my stupidity, please continue with your ideas on what is happening to my baby!!!.

She does not want to show any, i have tried 10 times to get it to display but it doesnt show anything other than that diag' code.

 

My car I think sort of does the same thing with the engine. When I am accelerating moderatly its fine. When I floor it, the car has a slight jerking sensation. I have a 305 TBI and I am a little disappointed in its performance. I know the car is old ('89) but 4 cylinders can beat me. (I real dont think its my driving. But any ideas where that jerking sensation is coming from?? Could it be a loss of compression?? Or could the throttle body be clogged up?? Could it have anything to do with my cat. converter?? I would really apreciate some input!!
