Smoke!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this problem is really getting to me and i can't come up with anything...K the problem is i changed to an open element airfilter and i put a breather on and the second i start my car, smoke starts comin out the breather and if i take out the oil cap smoke comes out too.. its so bad that if i'm at a light and the sun shines right u can see the smoke comin out the hood but my car is not burning oil just a little went its starts

That's because a breather defeats the PCV system. The PCV system pushes fresh air through the passenger valve cover, into the crankcase, then recirculates it into the intake once it comes out the opposite valvecover....but there's a screen in there to keep oil from getting into your motor. Without the PCV system to PUSH air through the crankcase, all the breather(s) are doing is letting the crankcase vent out. The crankcase builds up pressure...the breather/PCV system relieves that pressure. This is why you get smoke out of your breather...that's the pressure built up in the case being relieved and vented. If you want to get rid of the smoke...return your car to a stock PCV system...replace the screen and valve if you need to.
