Car smoking
Hey guys,
My car has about 126,000 miles o it and has never smoked or used very much oil. But over the last two weeks I have been losing oil somehow . The car dose not leak any oil at all . But yesterday I changed the oil and now the car will smoke for a few minutes when i first start the car in the mornings. Does anyone know why ? Or could that just be the old oil burning . But like I said the car has never used oil or smoked before . Any help would bbe appreciated.

Is is possible that you have replaced your oil with a slightly thinner one? Like, say, 10w40 instead of 15w40? If so, it's possible that the new thinner oil is seeping into places of the engine the old thick oil couldn't get to, such as the combustion chambers.

Sounds like you need new valve seals to me.
If it just smokes for a second at startup its probably your valve seals. Cheap to buy...semi-PITA to change tho.

If it does it only when you first start it then it's valve seals alright. It did the same on my IROC when I first bought it, changed 'em and now all's good again.
