Best replacement engine?
Best replacement engine?
Hello all. I spun a rod bearing... oh happy day. Just wondering what some of your suggestions might be as far a setups. Keep in mind im only 17, so money is an issue. I am off to college at the end of august. I have about 1000 maybe a little less to spend. I will be commuting so I am in a hurry. All help is greatly appreciated THANX!

Pull the engine, take it apart (get yourself a good shop manual for your engine to get info on the proper way to do that, if you don't know the routine). Take the shortblock pieces (block, crank, rods/pistons) to a machine shop and have them look it over.
The best replacement engine may very well be the one you get back from them.
