Timing issue

Ok guys, I keep reading how to unplug the EST wire near the blower motor to set the timing. I can not find this wire. The lable under my hood says to unplug the 4 wire connector. There is a 4 wire connector that runs to the dist behind the drivers side head. This is what I unplugged to set timing. I set it at 0 degrees unplugged. It appears to be about 16 degrees when plugged back in. Does this sound right?

Oops, almost forgot. 85 berlinetta, LG4 with a CC quadrajet.

the est bypass wire is for the fuel injected cars ONLY because if you pull the 4 wire connector, the engine dies because the ecm no longer has a reference pulse. Just make sure the engine idle speed is whats specified. The timing will jump when its pluged back in because the computer will agian be giving it advance.
