1991 Z28 with the 305 TPI. revs to 2500 then cuts out

1991 Z28 with the 305 TPI. revs to 2500 then cuts out
It does this ONLY when in gear.
This is my friends new car. It just had a full tuneup last week, but he said he didnt think the map/maf was looked at.
Fuel filter is new, and fuel pump tested out good.
Any idea's at all? It's been so long since I've looked at one of these cars I forget where to even start.
